This was a simple but fun assignment. We had to choose a song and animate the words to match the song. I chose an Alexisonfire song called Drunks, Lovers, Sinners and Saints. It’s fast and hard, so I tried to emulate that through the animation. A static image doesn’t do it much justice. So to have a look at it, just download the following file.

The web is always progressing and with web standards raising, the want for web pages to run like applications is growing every day. Our assignment was to construct a photo gallery using php. This photo gallery builds itself. All the administrator has to do is create a thumbnail and large image both of the same picture and drop them into folders. That’s it. Then when the webpage is loaded into a browser the php code goes to work building the page dynamically. It’s pretty cool when you think about it.

A school assignment which we had to use many effects in flash. Using mask’s, motion and shape tweens to create a mock-up banner ad for new Sony camera’s. We had certain elements we had to incorporate into this project. I truly enjoyed designing and coming up with the concept of this ad. My main focus was how could I make it different from everybody else.

This was a school assignment to display some of my photography. It was fully constructed in Flash. Even though it is not fully functional, most of the main features work. It has the ability to play the slide show. It gives the user the options to turn on or off the music, as well as the fading while going through the pictures. All the photos are originals of some of the concert photography that I have taken over the years.

DINOBASH. We had to create a so called “shooting” game. Now everybody in the class did these futuristic games with crazy flying machines. That can be cool, however, I thought the complete opposite of flying machines. After much thought, I came up with the idea of cavemen and dinosaurs. The game was created in Director using lingo. This little game is probably more fun to make than play, for the simple fact that friends were coming up to me and giving me more and more ideas for the game. Who knows there might be another version.

Introducing the Corkboard Computer. This was a project combining the use of 3D and Director. We had to create a fictional but practical product using Maya 8. Once we had completed that we needed to import it into Director. Using Director we had to create an interactive promotional piece. Our fictional product had to rotate around, move left to right, zoom in and out and had to have at least one animation.

This character was the final project for my 3D class. We were asked to design a character, and anything went. We could let our imaginations run wild. Being who I am, I decided to build a big headed cartoon man.

The main principles of this assignment were to have fun, but more importantly learn the importance of constructing a character while keeping the wire frame clean of unnecessary lines.
